Filbert – Yamhill

Filbert (Corylus) – Yamhill
Quantity: 1
Location: 3rd Hugelkultur row bed
Purchased from Raintree Nursery
Planted: Spring 2011
USDA Zones: 5-9

Description from nursery: This latest OSU release is very productive. It is Eastern Filbert Blight immune and also produces early ripening, very tasty nuts. It is a small tree. A good pollinizer for Sanitam, Hall’s Giant and Delta. Finally with both Yamhill and Santiam we have two excellent quality immune cultivars that pollinize each other.

Received plant in April from Raintree Nursery and planted directly in the arboretum.

Photo update from 5-12-11:

Most buds have leafed out and are growing well. No catkins or flowers this year.
